Unreliable internet service was disrupting business operations, causing frequent outages and slow performance.
Resolution: Working with a local WISP, we identified a tree on the property where a Point-to-Point (P2P) radio could be mounted, providing a clear Line-of-Sight (LoS) to one of their access points. This allowed the client to replace their unreliable ISP with a more stable connection. The WISP’s independent backhaul network also introduced route diversity, ensuring a reliable and resilient internet connection.
Data was dispersed across staff computers, and a Network Attached Storage (NAS) device at headquarters posed several challenges. Employees struggled to share large files efficiently, and the NAS relied on an outdated, insecure FTP protocol, creating a significant cybersecurity risk.
The NAS was retired, and all company data was migrated to the cloud, enabling seamless access for staff from any location. This eliminated file-sharing challenges, improved collaboration, and enhanced security by leveraging modern cloud protections, eliminating the risks associated with the insecure FTP protocol.
The previous ISP provided telephone service, but costs were steadily increasing and had become too high.
The company transitioned to Google Voice for VoIP phone service, seamlessly integrating with their free Google Workspace for Nonprofits edition. This migration significantly reduced costs while providing a flexible, scalable, and feature-rich communication solution.
